The five songs in Giants and Dragons are based on much loved contemporary poems. The texts are Olive Dove's "Dragon", C. E. Carryl's "The Sleepy Giant", Jane Yolen's two poems "Dragon Night" and "The Troll to her Children" and Charles Thompson's "A Dragon in the Classroom".
